![]() RIP Ozzy 1948-20257/22/25:Ozzy passed away this morning. I’m sad that such an influential figure is gone. I’m happy that he got to spend his last few days on this earth surrounded by love. His death wasn’t sudden but it doesn’t feel any less tragic I suppose. He was given such a long life, and got to experience and create so much, far more than most people ever will; and his legacy is far more important and inspirational than many artists and celebrities today could dream of. We’re at a crossroads in our culture at the moment; art is changing. Being an artist for the sake of creating is something that is fading farther and farther into the past as we continue to lose our foundational artists. We’re handing over our human need to create to soulless machines that spit out a hollow imitation of the human experience. It just feels so shitty to know that the people that built what we have now are leaving, and we’re left with nothing in their place. There will never be another Ozzy Osbourne, or David Lynch, and in recent years no one has had even a fraction of the same impact. In our current world nothing lasts longer than a week, we are so quick to move on to the next trend that nothing ever has a chance to grow into something culturally important like Black Sabbath. The continued push towards fast paced content and algorithmically chosen interests will make sure of this. I’m mourning the loss of something greater than one man, it’s the end of an era we will never have back. It feels as if the resistance to popular culture and their cherry picked narratives and mouthpieces is coming to an end. Alternative culture is in such a weird state as it steps closer to being the majority. The movement’s origins are being stripped from the art it has created in favor of its aesthetics, with no one putting up a fight. Rest in peace, we love you.

![]() Chicken Jockey 🗣4/20/25:Did I go into the Minecraft movie expecting greatness? No. Was it good? Also no. The whole thing felt like someone's greenscreened YouTube skit. Is it possible for something to be Too HD? Because that's how I felt watching these hyperrealistic characters interact with their 3D environment. Not to say the CGI was bad, because it wasn't, but there was a hard divide between the actors and the world they were supposed to be in. Other than technical critiques, I found the story entertaining enough, the characters themselves were written well. They had clear wants and motivations and each felt unique. Although, I felt like the women in the film were severely overlooked. The film literally separating them from the men in the second act and only reuniting them when the men needed someone to provide care. Every woman in this movie is a care-giver to some degree, whereas the men are all seen as 'Creative' the women lack this skill. The only time we see a creation made by a woman, she has built it in order to take care of the men. I think it's just sad they fall to the background of the men's journey when each character was promoted equally. All of this aside however; I did enjoy the experience. The children in the audience of my showing had a great time watching, and that's really all 'A Minecraft Movie' set out to do, entertain children. I would've loved to see a film dedicated to the older demographic that grew up with this game, but that isn't going to happen in a world that wants everything sanitized and dumbed down for our children. The message of 'A Minecraft Movie' is to create even when it's hard, when there's obstacles in your way. Which I think is relative to the ongoing war in creative fields today. When people choose the easy way of creating; it results in mangled, soulless AI images, writing, music, etc. The act of creating is lost in favor of ease and instant gratification, something our current climate demands. What AI 'artists' are missing however; is the drive to create. The need to share your soul, your thoughts and ideas, your pain and joy with someone else. So create. Even when it is hard, try. Creating is an act of resistance to a fascist society. CHICKEN JOCKEY!!!![]() |
![]() Fucking V4/2/25:I’m so excited for this new era of Ghost. The new chapter reignited my fixation yet again. I love the sibling rivalry Copia is feeling right now, I can’t wait to find out if it’s mutual or one sided.
(@skeleterzo x.com) I was surprised to learn that the Psaltarians are Copia’s adoptive parents ♥, I suppose it makes sense because Someone had to be taking care of him all of these years; but I never would’ve guessed it. I think it’s so sweet looking back at the previous chapters, especially right before the Kia Forum [x], reimagining Copia and Psaltarian’s relationship. Realizing that he’d been his father figure the majority of his life reframes their entire dynamic, I wonder if he is proud of how far Copia has made it in the clergy. (click to view)It also makes the ending scene of Rite Here Rite Now even more upsetting if you think about it. I wonder what Sister and Psaltarian's relationship was like, if they had one at all. I’m so intrigued to learn more about V, I wonder if we will learn anything about him in the upcoming Sister Imperator comics. Marika mentioned that the clergy comes “from the old circus world”, which helps tie together so much. I’ve been wondering how the hell that was going to fit into all this. Now I'm even more excited for the next issue. (click to view)Also, it's so exciting to have a character straight from the comics pop up in the chapters! I wonder who else will show up? There is one guy in the background of the chapter video that is sitting with a baby carriage next to his desk? I really wonder what is up with that/if we will see something like that in another issue. Since the release of Satanized I’ve been listening to it nonstop, it’s such a good song. It has so many elements that are familiar to the Ghost sound while also feeling completely unique and new. As of today Skeletá releases in 22 days, and I am desperately awaiting its arrival. I want to hear it now!!! |
